It’s worse than I thought

RK showed up early on Saturday morning, so as usual, we gave him what was probably his first meal of the week and listened to stories from “home”. He had gotten lost in telling us one horrific story after another when he realized that the sun was setting and needed to get home. I saw a terror in his eyes that simply broke my heart.
Oh, RK — be safe — wherever you are!!!

I wanted to see how Cole would react if he saw me injured on the ground, so I pretended to fall into the leaves I had just raked up. I heard him quickly come over, but rather than run for mom or go get a phone, he jut giggled and walked away.
And I think he just sneezed, no way did he spit on me.
Not what I signed up for
Nov 12th
When I signed on for cheap child labor, I mean…uh…parenting…I was expecting so much more. I gave Cole the simple task of tearing down our old front stoop and putting in a new one. It took him almost two months — and to me this is just disappointing. He is almost 2 years old…he should be doing so much better.
Kids today. Harumph.
Eraserhead

We put on Cole’s blue hat and round him around the yard around sunset and told him it was erasing the blue sky and that’s how it turned into night.
I thought he was trying to get close with me when I realized he was rubbing his hat up and down the side of my head.
Guess who?

Cole figured out what Halloween was all about and decided he didn’t want to be a giraffe.
He walked around the house for the better part of 8 hours with his hand up to his ear and babbled away. I didn’t get it at first, even though it was quite obvious. Who else could possibly sit on the phone for over 8 hours?
I think I even saw him use call waiting…
